ABOUT US:
J&M Cruise Lines are the operators of The Sandpiper, The Glass City Pearl, and Water Street Taxi + Tours. We manage “The Docks” (restaurants) and Downtown Docks at Promenade Park during concerts and special events in Toledo, Ohio. J&M Cruise Lines also manages The Glass City Marina at The Glass City Metropark.
WORKING FOR US:
If you love the outdoors and Downtown Toledo this is the job for you! All positions listed below are seasonal positions that run from March until October. All positions are part-time positions. We will train all staff for each position and advancements are available. You must be willing to work weekends and holidays as well as in all weather conditions. J&M Cruise Lines has a zero tolerance drug use policy for all staff.
POSITIONS

CAPTAIN
Captains must know their vessel. Captains must be able to complete a daily checklist of mechanical maintenance and observation prior to each shift. Captains must understand that they are the lead on their vessel and responsible for all staff and guests.
Must have a minimum of 25 ton Master’s license. 100 ton licensure is preferred. Licensure must be in good standing. Must have a current CPR and FIRST AID certificate.

MATE
Mates must be experts in customer service. Must be friendly and outgoing. Must be comfortable with public speaking. Effective communication skills with staff and guests are a must. Will be required to play the part of themed cruises and facilitate experiences and interactions.
Must be 16 years of age. Must be able to physically throw lines and tie up lines for each vessel. Must be organized and able to restock and prepare for daily cruises.

DOCKHAND
Greet guests, address boating needs, and assist with docking. Must be able to communication well with customers and crew members. Assist with Water Taxi & Tours, as needed.
Must be 16 years of age and able to bend, stretch, and lift up to 50 lbs.

MARINA STAFF
Marina staff are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Glass City Marina, including assisting boaters with docking, undocking, and fuel service, maintaining the cleanliness of the docks and grounds, collecting fees, enforcing marina rules, providing customer service, and performing minor maintenance tasks as needed. All while prioritizing safety and ensuring a smooth experience for marina users.
Must be 16 years of age and able to bend, stretch, and lift up to 50 lbs. Will be responsible for monitoring sales within “ship store.” Marina Staff must be self-motivated, timely, and have great customer service skills.

OFFICE ASSISTANT
The Office Assistant reports directly to the owner at J&M Cruise Lines. Assistant is required to support the rules, regulations, and customer service needs for the docks and marina. The assistant will also assist administrative staff with duties related to the requirements of other staff members and preparation for upcoming cruises and events.
Must be 18 years of age. Must have a reliable vehicle. Must have previous customer service experience and great time management and organization skills. Management experience preferred.
